Agencies

The DMA Agencies Council aims to ensure that DMA member agencies enjoy substantially greater commercial success as a direct result of their DMA membership and a clear and sustainable competitive advantage over non-member agencies.
The Agencies Council has a broad remit and therefore has a diverse membership.

As an elected body of people from various agency types (dm, integrated, data, media) and those that interact with agencies, like the search and selection organisation AAR and Royal Mail, the Council comprehensively represents the industry.

We aim to improve the working relationships and understanding between agencies, suppliers and clients and be a voice for agencies. We are currently looking at a wide range of projects including:
  • Intellectual Property Rights - how agencies can protect their ideas and not abuse others IP.
  • The pitch process - we are devising a fairer way for both clients and agencies and one that also takes into consideration suppliers like media, printers and data.
  • Procurement - we are working to help procurement understand the value, not just the cost, of creativity and ideas.
  • RFI - Another good practice project to produce a single RFI form that everyone can use.
  • Creativity - we have a major project in hand to help make creativity understood at shareholder and board level. This could prove to create a better environment for creativity in DM.
  • Ageism - we are evaluating the issues within the industry.
  • Speaker database - a DMA first. We are working with one of the UK's leading speaker agents to supply speakers on marketing.
Where relevant we seek to work with other bodies like the AAR, IPA, ISBA, CIPS, D&AD, NABS to share ideas and learnings. If you feel you or your organisation can add to anything we are doing please contact us.

The Agency Council constantly looks at 'change' and seeks to challenge the way the industry thinks.
